| A Camp for All Children
Capital Camps A pandemic wasn’t going to stop Capital Camps from being the community’s ‘camp for all’—where children with special needs can participate in all activities and be fully mainstreamed in the general population. After quickly pivoting to engage families and campers virtually, Capital Camps was able to continue to deliver enriching camp experiences to many in our community. “Sparked by a sweet tooth” and a commitment to ensuring that people with all abilities have an opportunity to have meaningful employment is the foundational mission of Sunflower Bakery’s Employment Training Program. Young adults from across Greater Washington are learning the art of pastry making and baking, and gaining skills and confidence to chart a new professional path.

• Sandwich-Making Pop-Up
Join EDCJCC Sunday, February 28 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for neighbors experiencing food insecurity. This activity will take place in the EDCJCC parking lot and all CDC guidelines will be observed.
• COVID-19 Vaccination Site Volunteers
Montgomery County is looking for volunteers to join the Medical Reserve Corps, which is assisting in supporting COVID-19 vaccination sites. Key roles at these sites will be vaccine administration, client registration, logistics support, and data entry.
• Make Dog Toys to Donate to a Local Shelter
Explore more than 17 easy, do-it-yourself ideas to make safe toys for animals at your local shelter! Then, donate your toy(s) in DC, Maryland, or Virginia.
