Federation is proud to support the Jewish Fertility Foundation (JFF)'s expansion to Greater Washington! JFF provides financial assistance, emotional support, and educational programming to individuals with medical infertility. JFF-DC is the nonprofit’s sixth location, and we are thrilled to welcome them and their essential work to our community.

Jewish Identity and the American Public Square Federation and Shalom Hartman Institute
Drawing on the Jewish tradition, this session will explore different frameworks for thinking about who Jews want to be in America. Join Yehuda Kurtzer, president of the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, and Emily Tamkin, author of Bad Jews: A History of American Jewish Politics and Identities and senior U.S. editor of the New Statesman, in conversation with Gil Preuss, Federation CEO, for a critical and timely conversation on the role of Jewish identity in the American public square.

Everything But the Turkey
Edlavitch DCJCC, DC Central Kitchen, Federation's Next Gen, and PJ Library
Join Federation partner Edlavitch DCJCC, DC Central Kitchen, and hundreds of volunteers from the community to chop, mix, grate, and prepare thousands of servings of festive Thanksgiving dishes for people experiencing food insecurity and homelessness in the DC area. No cooking experience necessary. Attend the community-wide program or choose a timeslot with PJ Library or Federation’s Next Gen (young professionals). This year’s program will be held entirely indoors.

Support Veterans on Veterans Day
National Museum of American Jewish Military History
Volunteer to assemble care packages, and make cards and thank you notes for hospitalized veterans. Items needed for the care packages are assorted toiletries, games, puzzles, books, and new packaged socks, underwear, and non-skid slippers.
