Residence Life Winter Break Coverage
|
- Office Hours: Swift, East, and West Campus offices will be open 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., except on university holidays (Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31, Jan. 1).
- RA On-Call: Starting Dec. 17, RAs will provide 24/7 on-call coverage for East, West, and Swift campuses through Jan. 5. They can assist with concerns or lockouts when offices are closed.

Housing Assignments: Staff will respond to calls and emails, except on university holidays, to assist with assignment-related questions.
- Guest Policy Reminder: Students staying in Winter Break housing must comply with the Housing License and Terms, as well as Duke policies:
- Students will not permit any student or non-student who is not granted authorization from Housing and Residence Life to live in or visit their room/apartment.

Students will abide by the policies set forth in the Duke Community Standard: A Guide for Undergraduates, as well as the Housing and Residence Life Terms and License.

Students understand that if they allow a guest who is not granted permission to live in or visit their room, or if they violate any policy(ies), they may be subject to disciplinary action and their guest may be billed for their housing accommodations.

Duke Dining During Winter Break

The Duke Career Center invites all students to Spark Your Career 2026 on Friday, January 30, from 10:00 AM–5:30 PM. Start the day with professional headshots in the Career Center (Bryan Center 036) from 10:30 AM–12:00 PM, open to all Duke students.
The main program begins at 12:00 PM in Penn Pavilion, featuring resume and cover-letter support, networking and interviewing tips with local employers, and additional breakout sessions.
Open to all undergraduates, with a special focus on sophomores. Visit Handshake to register and explore session details.

Need Tech Help or Free Equipment? The Link Has You Covered |
Running into laptop issues, Wi-Fi fails, or a last-minute need for a camera or projector? The OIT Service Desk at The Link (located in the lower level of Perkins Library) is your go-to spot for tech support and free equipment rentals.
You can walk in, call, or live-chat with the Service Desk during weekday hours — and many items can be reserved online for anywhere from 4 hours to 2 weeks. If you haven’t checked it out yet, winter break is the perfect time to explore what they offer.
