This Week at the Tutorium |

The ELSI 088 Critical Reading for Communication Course presented its poster presentation this past Wednesday. Each student chose a research topic related to their field of study and spent most of the semester conducting their research. On presentation day, Tutorium team members stopped by briefly to interact with the students and learn more about their research projects. It was a fun time of learning and growing.

We are delighted to have a student join our intensive English language program. If you see them around campus, please introduce yourself and say hello. You might be the friend they need to feel right at home.

| Did you know that yesterday, March 8, was Daylight Saving Time? This means that sunrise and sunset will be one hour later. Now, you can go for a walk after dinner, and it won't feel like nighttime.
Your clocks should have already moved forward one hour. However, if the time on your clock is the same, you'll need to move your clock one hour ahead, or you'll be one hour late for class today!
Most smartphones will automatically change their time. Here are some clocks that need to have their time turned forward 1 hour: Microwave clock, Wall clock, Clock radio/alarm, Car clock.

Types of College Admissions |
|
|
There are at least seven different types of college admissions. It’s important to understand the differences when you start your college or university applications.
|
-
Regular Admission: There is a deadline for applications, and all of the applications are reviewed after that deadline. All applications that are on time have equal chances of being accepted depending on their qualifications.
- Rolling Admission: Applications are reviewed when they are received, and acceptance letters are sent soon after. Late applications will have less chance of being accepted.
-
Open Admission: Almost all applications that meet the requirements are accepted. It is more common in community colleges.
- Early Decision: Application deadlines are very early; applicants must attend that school if accepted. Be sure to know all the details of this agreement!
-
Early Action: Apply early, find out if you are accepted, and choose from all your early action possibilities. Be sure to know all the details of this agreement!
- Early Evaluation: This is NOT an acceptance. Applications will be reviewed early and students will be told if they will likely be accepted.
-
Deferred Admission: Get accepted, then put it off for a year. Be sure to know all the details of this agreement!
