Join Us at Circle Cinema Film Festival OF+MO is proud to be a returning sponsor of the 2024 Circle Cinema Film Festival taking place at Circle Cinema in Tulsa July 11-15. The festival will feature a variety of Oklahoma films throughout its programming, including the world premiere of “Seven Cemeteries” starring Danny Trejo, which was produced in Oklahoma utilizing the state’s film incentive. A free public panel discussion on “The State of the Oklahoma Film Industry” will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, featuring leaders in the states film industry with OF+MO representation.

Join Us at the OKC 48 Hour Film Project Awards Ceremony The 48 Hour Film Festival 2024 Awards Ceremony will take place July 20 at 7 p.m. at the MetroTech Springlake Campus in Oklahoma City. Five films that have been nominated for "Best Film of OKC" will be screened. Twenty-seven awards will be presented highlighting Oklahoma filmmakers with OF+MO presenting the Audience Choice Awards A and B as a sponsor.

"Twisters" to Release in Theatres July 19 The Universal blockbuster film "Twisters" is set to release in theatres July 19. Filmed in Oklahoma and starring Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos, the movie used state rebate incentives and filmed across Chickasaw, Midwest City, El Reno, Spenser, Oklahoma City, Prairie Surf Studios and other locations.

Cody Mayo Studios Offering Four-Class Writing Series Cody Mayo Studios is offering a four-class series, So You Want to be a TV Writer?, that will run on Tuesday evenings 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 9-30. Designed as a fast-paced bootcamp for the aspiring TV writer and taught by industry veteran Blake Taylor, the series will cover development, staffing, representation, networking, the structure of the business, breaking in, series & pilot production, writers’ room & set etiquette, the life of a showrunner and more.

Learn what it takes to help your child break into the film business with the Meridian Technology Center class So Your Child Wants to be An Extra? with instructor Kevin Yap of Background Casting Actors of Oklahoma. This course will take place Saturday, July 20, 9 a.m - 12 p.m. at Meridian Tech's South Campus in Guthrie.

Francis Tuttle Technology Center Offering Songwriting Course Francis Tuttle Technology Center is offering Techniques for Writing Professional Song Lyrics July 22-25 at 6 p.m. at their Rockwell location. Open to everyone, this course explores the methods used by successful songwriters in the music industry, analyzing songs from various genres. Participants will learn how professional lyricists create their songs.

Film Friendly: On the Road OF+MO is seeking to engage on-location with leadership among statewide cities, towns, counties and tribal nations to promote the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program and learn more about each community’s structure and development plans.
Over the last month, OF+MO had the opportunity to liaison with leadership representing the City of Atoka, City of McAlester and the City of Perry. Many thanks to all of our participants and local hosts for welcoming us to their communities.

Yukon Presents First Film Incentive to Country Equipment An officially certified city and member of the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program, the City of Yukon recently announced the first recipient of its newly launched Film Incentive Program for 2023-2024. Jody Sparks of Country Equipment was presented with this inaugural incentive award by local leadership for the company’s commercial productions, which were filmed in Yukon.
Administered by the City of Yukon, the Yukon Film Incentive Program is designed to attract feature films, television series and commercials to the city. To qualify for the commercial incentive, productions must have a minimum budget of $5,000, pre-complete and receive approval for a local filming permit and display the City of Yukon logo in end credits.
