SIMPSON TEKTITES
In the 1970s, Josh developed a glass formula that replicated the actual composition of tektite glass meteorites. He cleverly called this gnarly, barely controllable substance, “Tektite Glass.”
He then went on to juxtapose this crude stuff against the elegance of his New Mexico, Corona and Iridescent glass, creating sculptures that evoke meteorites having burst open to reveal a magnificent interior. These works he also cleverly named, "Tektites."
