2025-26 FRESSH Cohort Call for Applications
The FRESSH (Fostering Research Expansion in the Social Sciences & Humanities) Program is designed to help scholars in the arts, social sciences, and humanities in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences apply for and obtain external funding for their research. The program consists of workshops during the academic year during which scholars work with invited guests and each other to develop a proposal suitable for submitting to an external funding agency such as the NEH, ACLS, NSF, or a foundation or residential fellowship program outside the University of Kansas.

2025-26 Promotion & Tenure Dossier Submission Deadline
The deadline for the submission of P&T dossiers to the Dean’s Office, including completed initial-level evaluations, is Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 12 p.m. One week later – October 9 at 12 noon – is the deadline for the submission of a “Candidate Response to Negative Recommendation or Marginal/Poor Evaluation from the Initial (Unit) Review Committee.” Further details of the submission process will be provided by September 10.

GTA/GRA/GA (3G) Selections & Hiring for Fall 2025 PAST DUE
The deadline for chairs, faculty, and PIs to provide Fall 2025 appointment and funding details to graduate staff was June 13. This information should be provided to staff as soon as possible, if not already, to avoid delays with 3Gs tuition coverage and first paycheck.

2026-27 Sabbatical Leave Applications
The deadline for sabbatical applications to the College is September 2, 2025, at 12 p.m.; please remember that your unit level reviews should be carried out before then and included in the materials you send to the College. All materials must be submitted to classab@ku.edu.
Special instructions for department chairs:
If you are a department chair and departmental initial-level review of your application would entail either self-evaluation or some other conflict of interest, please contact the associate dean who is assigned to your department to determine a plan for the initial-level review of your application. Please contact them by August 1, 2025, to allow time for a plan to be put in place.

CUAS (College Undergraduate Academic Services) is welcoming two new staff members this month.
Taylor Wren - Administrative Associate Senior
Coming to us from just a short distance, Taylor is currently the Administrative Associate Senior in the Chancellor’s office. She has extensive experience both at KU and in other areas such as account management, editing, court reporting, and customer service. Taylor’s first day will be on Monday, July 14.
Tammy Kraus - Governance Administrative Assistant
Tammy recently relocated to Lawrence after independently operating a small construction business for the last several years. She brings with her extensive customer service, project management, data analysis, and human resources experience. Tammy’s first day will be on Monday, July 7.
