July 9, 2021Marie's Message
Hi All, Welcome to July! It was great to see people out celebrating July 4th as families, friends gathered with things moving forward in the new normal. Along with that, we have been given updated protocols from the Dean of the Division of Extension.
COVID-19 Protocol Changes We are making a few adjustments to our COVID-19 guidelines to match our programming needs and community situations. Our guidelines are as follows:
Outdoors: Physical distancing is no longer required outdoors. Individuals who are not vaccinated are encouraged to wear a face covering.
Indoors: There are no group size limits on indoor gatherings. Individuals who are not vaccinated are encouraged to wear a face covering.
Transportation: Any individual who is not vaccinated should wear a face covering when driving or riding with others.
These updates remove the requirements for 6-feet spacing for indoor spaces and 50-percent capacity for transportation.
As a reminder: 4-H Executive Board/4-H Endowment Fund Nominations - Encourage people from other clubs to serve on the board. Executive board members can only serve for two terms at a time, with a total of four years. There are four vacant spots for the board next year and four vacant spots for the youth next year. This rule is put in place so that the same people are not serving the board and new opinions are being brought to the organization. The youth have to be in 7th grade or higher in order to be nominated.
Extension educators are also back in full swing at the office, so feel free to contact me there. As in the past, I am often out of the office with programs, meetings and activities, but the staff knows when I am in, or you can leave a message. Email is typically the easiest because I can also check that when I am out as well. Please feel free to contact me with questions.

Richwood Rangers (Ciara Schreiber) The people that went to the Dodge County Dairy Breakfast and the Watertown Agribusiness told the club what they did. Motions were made and carried, to donate money for the bench in memory of Dan Short at the Dodge County Fairgrounds.
Achievers 4-H Club Pond Study At the club’s June monthly meeting members created wooden bug houses, took them home and put them in a pond, creek or lake near to their house. Last week the members collected their bug houses, disassembled them and looked at the bugs living in the houses. Club leader Lorna O’Donovan led the study and explained that the types of bugs found can determine how clean or unclean the body of water is. The youth took a closer look at the bugs under the microscope.

Chris Clover moves FOURWARD!
Let’s move Fourward Together this summer by taking Chris Clover on a journey throughout Wisconsin. Chris Clover is a fictional character that 4-Hers can print and take along on their 4-H adventures this summer. The idea is that they take a photo of themselves with Chris Clover, engaged in 4-H activities related to the Wisconsin 4-H Movement values. They can be printed out already in color, or printed in black and white for 4-Hers to creatively color and decorate.
