Bryant Yu: A nursing major who transferred from Foothill College in Los Altos, CA. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, exercising, reading, and drawing.

Advice to fellow transfer students: Be completely open to becoming friends with anybody. You may not think you and someone else will relate, but you never truly know. I’d also say not to put yourself in a box. You should come into this experience like a blank canvas in order for you to create something new.

Meet Professor Marco Durazo: A political science scholar and dedicated educator whose work focuses on Latino politics, immigrant rights, civic engagement, and immigration policy.

With a PhD in political science from UCLA and graduate training at MIT and Harvard, Professor Durazo brings both academic expertise and deep community connections to his teaching and mentorship. His current book manuscript, The Few, The Proud, The Deported: Race, Military Service, and the Politics of Immigration Enforcement, explores the intersection of race, military service, and immigration enforcement.

He is passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders, lawyers, scholars, and changemakers.
