Spring Focus Groups

CETL is committed to supporting the professional development and success of all instructors. To better understand how we can enhance support, we are inviting adjunct or part-time instructors to participate in virtual focus groups. If you are interested in participating, join the March 27, 12:00-1:00 p.m. session or 5:00-6:00 p.m. session.

Thank you to all the teaching assistants (TAs) who were able to join us for the TA focus groups last month. If you were unable to join or have additional comments, we invite current or past TAs to complete this brief TA survey.

A Practical Workshop on Generating an Assessment

We are excited to share that Dr. Kristen Murphy, Professor and Chair of Chemistry with UWM is offering a workshop in April on creating assessments. The goal is to leave the workshop with a completed plan for one of your next assessments as well as a start on creating it. Register to attend her April 14, 1:00-3:00 p.m. workshop.

Quizzing and Mid-semester Feedback

Mid-semester student feedback surveys provide an opportunity to check in with students on what is working well and where there is need for improvement. A few questions or a longer list, can provide information to the instructor for making meaningful changes that support student learning and overall improvement. Learn more about gathering student feedback in Canvas.
With midterms underway, one of the questions CETL receives includes using Canvas Quizzes for exams. Explore the range of options available for creating or editing quizzes in this Quiz Guide. You can also use the Moderate Quiz page to provide extra time or additional attempts, as detailed here.
