Celebrating 120 Years of Care
This year marks the 120th anniversary of A.G. Rhodes!

As one of Atlanta’s oldest nonprofit organizations, our roots trace back more than a century ago when Amos Giles Rhodes came to Atlanta and founded Rhodes Furniture. He donated the land and funds for A.G. Rhodes’ first location, which opened in 1904 at the corner of Boulevard and Woodward Avenue where our flagship location still operates today. Visit our special anniversary web page to learn more about our remarkable history, and watch our tribute video.

Employee Spotlight: Vanissa Johnson, Activities Director, A.G. Rhodes Atlanta
Vanissa Johnson called A.G. Rhodes more than three decades ago asking if there were any job openings. She says her 32-year career has been a blessing.

“What I have enjoyed the most is developing relationships with the residents, being able to spend quality time with them, and getting to know their families. It’s been a blessing for me to be able to develop these relationships.”

Dream Fulfilled

A.G. Rhodes, in partnership wtih Second Wind Dreams and the Georgia Health Care Association (GHCA), made a dream come true for A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods elder and Atlanta Braves fan Anne Bowden. At the GHCA Winter Convention in January, Ms. Bowden was surprised with tickets to Opening Day at Truist Park, fun Braves swag, and special appearances by Braves Mascot Blooper, the Heavy Hitters Band, and the Tomahawk Cheerleaders. Team Accolades
"From the first night we arrived with our mom after hip surgery, we were treated professionally, the entire staff has been kind and efficient and accommodating...(and) had a gift basket for her when we arrived with amenities....We are pleased with this community so far and even with the construction to update and expand their community, they are still smiling, attentive and respectful.
Thank you to everyone there who takes great care of our mom. We appreciate you."
