A huge congratulations to Prof Julie Redfern for being recognised as one of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)'s '10 of the Best' — a spotlight of groundbreaking achievements from Australia’s leading health and medical researchers.
This recognition highlights Prof Redfern's extraordinary work in revolutionising heart health and patient-centred care in Australia. From digital interventions to leading the SOLVE-CHD Synergy Grant, she has transformed cardiovascular disease prevention at a national level, bringing it beyond its traditional programs and into the modern digital era.
Your passion, creative spirit and mentorship continue to inspire us, Julie. Congratulations on this well-deserved honour!

Welcoming Sanuri Wijesekera Kankanamge to the SOLVE-CHD team |
Sanuri is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) and Bachelor of Nursing (Honours I) with the University Medal. Sanuri’s honours research investigated the effectiveness of quality improvement interventions in cardiac rehabilitation and the readiness of Australian programs to support these approaches.

For her PhD, Sanuri aims to examine how policy, organisational, and workforce factors shape the quality of cardiac rehabilitation in Australia, with the goal of identifying strategies to improve the consistency and equity of care.
