Exodus 31:2-6
See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,  and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills—  to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,  to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.  Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you:
New International Version (NIV)
“Inspired!”  Have you heard that expression?  We sometimes use that word to describe art of various kinds.  For example, when I hear Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring or I see Rembrandt’s Return of the Prodigal, or I taste really good food I feel the inspiration of the artist.

When Israel set out to build a tabernacle to worship God, the Lord inspired a craftsman named Bezalel to do the work.  God gave this artist wisdom, understanding and knowledge.  God gave skill to Oholiab and other artists as well.

In the New Testament we learn that God is not confined to a particular place for worship.  God lives in the temple comprised of his people  We use God’s good gifts to worship him and to prompt others to worship him as well.  What gifts has God given to you?  How will you use them to give him greater glory?

Pray with me:
Giver of good gifts, we praise you for your provision.  We offer our lives back to you in worship today.   Be glorified in your people today, we pray.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
This year we focus our Every Day with Jesus readings on Jesus’ story.  With references to Tallowood's Read Through the Bible in 2018 daily reading plan, let's focus our undivided attention on Jesus and follow where he lead. He will not fail. Neither will we!

Joyfully,
