I grew up in the era of the wonderful Dr. Seuss. So today, as we consider the choice to bless our spouses, I’ve taken a page from his book . . .
You give what you get
You get what you give,
But is that the way God
Expects us to live?
If the Father had waited
To send His dear son,
Till the world would embrace Him
We’d all be so done!
But Christ came with knowledge
He’d never be blessed,
By the world God created
But still gave us His best!
So if I wait for you
And you wait for me,
A blessing that lifts us
Just might never be.
The funny thing is
When I choose to bless you,
I’ve planted the seed
And then you bless me too.
So I’ve made my choice,
A blessing to give
Cause that’s the way God
Expects ME to live!
