INFORMATION & UPDATES

May 2016 Student Affairs Good News Report
The following report was created and submitted to the Board of Trustees to highlight the wonderful things we're doing in Student Affairs.  Each director submits information to be included and Jayne puts the final touches on it. Take a look at what your fellow SAF staffers are doing.
Finals’ Week Test Proctors Needed   May 9th-13th, 7:30am-5:00pm
  • The Rinella Learning Center
  • The RLC Testing Center will proctor over 500 exams during finals week.  Due to the number of exams we use additional proctors during finals week to meet our demand.  If you have any free time during finals week (i.e. 4-5 hours), please consider volunteering to proctor.
  • The Testing Center Staff will train you on policies and procedures and will provide refreshments.
  • If you are interested, please email Christina Carrubba-Whetstine at whetstc@miamioh.edu and describe the times that you would be available.

NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP)
I am currently recruiting undergraduate students to join the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP)! NUFP is a mentoring program for students interested in exploring the field of student affairs and  who identify as a member of a traditionally underrepresented or historically disenfranchised student population, including, but not limited to Black/African American, Asian, Hispanic/Latino(a), Indigenous (Native American, Alaskan, Hawaiian), Multiethnic, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or as having a disability. Here is the link to the application which is due for Spring enrollment on Friday, May 13th! If you know students who are interested and would benefit from this program, please send me their names and encourage them to apply!  If you have questions about the program, please contact Courtney Wallace at wallacc5@miamioh.edu. Thanks for your support in being intentional about diversifying the field of student affairs!

FROM OTHER DEPARTMENTS

Miami University- Department of Purchasing & Central Services
Annual Surplus Auction
Miami University’s Spring Auction of surplus property will be held starting at 9:00am Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Millett Hall.  This is your annual opportunity to seek out and identify materials and equipment assigned to your department which is under-utilized or no longer needed, and to clean out your storage areas, turning this surplus into income for the University. Items need not be in working order, but in fairness to our bidders such items should be clearly marked as “not working” with a short description of the problem.
Surplus items should be reported to Mr. Clarence Blevins, Physical Facilities Department, by memo, no later than June 2, 2016. List the item(s) and their location, and who should be contacted to arrange pickup.  Actual collection of most items will be made by Trucking Services.
In an effort to get surplus information to the Auctioneer for the flyers and newspaper ads that are circulated please contact Dick Pratt at prattra@miamioh.edu as soon as you know what you are placing in the auction.
Anyone having questions on this procedure, or the auction in general should contact Dick Pratt at prattra@miamioh.edu  or at  9-6132.
