Proposals for 2023 Research Symposium due March 31
The Trachtenberg School is partnering with the Data Foundation on the 2023 Research Symposium (May 23-24, 2023), framed around identifying examples, case studies, and lessons that inform policy and practice, guide the policy research community, and track progress on using data and evidence for improving government. Proposals from data and evidence leaders in the public or private sectors (academia, non-profits, industry, or government) are due March 31, with preference given to those that focus on the following themes:
- Data Strategy: Building Data Capacity with the Federal Data Strategy as a Guide
- Advancing Equity: Leveraging Data and Evidence to Support Inclusive Policy
- Evidence in Action: Progress Applying Evidence in Active, Real-Time Decision-Making Environments
- Data Collaboration: Learning from Past Successes to Maximize the Impact of the National Secure Data Service

Trachtenberg Student Inducted into The Edward Alexander Bouchet Honor Society
Congratulations to doctoral student Vernicia Griffie, who was accepted into the Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society. The society, chartered by Yale and Howard Universities, is named for the first African American doctoral recipient in the United States. GW has one of the earliest chapters of the society, which recognizes and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education and the professoriate.
