A&F Staff Members Share Their Story

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus is credited with the idea that the only constant in life is change. While we all know embracing change can be challenging, there are strategies and resources that can help us feel more comfortable with change and even learn to use it as a catalyst for excellence.

I&S Recognized for Contributions to Student Life |
The Division of Student Life recognized members of Infrastructure and Sustainability (I&S) and awarded them the Friends of Student Life award. This annual award is given to an individual (or group) outside of the division for “Outstanding contributions through exceptional dedication in support of the mission and vision of Student Life.” The recognition was for their collaborative efforts to make last fall's Family Weekend such a huge success.

| June Sustainability Champion: Jason Wang |
Senior Director of Institutional Research and Planning and triple Jacket Jason Wang has helped the Office of Sustainability and Sustainability Next team members collect data for numerous projects, including serving on the team for the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System™ (STARS®) Report for over a year. His contributions have enabled consistent reporting for better decision-making across the Institute.

| Leo Howell Named Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer |
Following a national search, the Georgia Institute of Technology has selected Leo Howell as its new vice president for Information Technology and chief information officer. Howell has served as interim vice president for Information Technology and chief information officer since Jan. 1.
He will transition to his new permanent role on July 1 and will report directly to Shantay N. Bolton, executive vice president for Administration and Finance.

A&F Breakfast After Dark Returns for the Third Year |
The third annual A&F Breakfast After Dark will be hosted by the A&F Staff Culture Advisory Council to celebrate our second and third shift team members in appreciation for all they do for A&F and the Institute as a whole.
This special event will be held on Thursday, July 25, from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Volunteers are needed to help with registration and serving food at various locations.

Student Hiring Information Sessions |
If you are planning on hiring a student employee for the fall semester, or assist people leaders in the hiring process, there are upcoming information sessions designed especially for you. Campus partners from the Federal Work Study office, the Administrative Services Center, and Georgia Tech Human Resources will share resources and timelines and answer questions.

Georgia Tech Police Department Energizes Patrol Fleet with Electric SUVs
|
The Georgia Tech Police Department is electrifying its patrol division with three all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E GT SUVs, leading the national eco-shift among law enforcement. The e-SUVs join an already-growing electric fleet, with the department currently using various electric alternatives.
