New guides are available for libraries, post-secondary institutions, and municipalities, to support voter turnout in the Ontario municipal election on October 26th.
These free, non-partisan resources were developed by the Democratic Engagement Exchange at TMU in partnership with AMO's Healthy Democracy Project.

Province Sends Letter to Municipalities Reinforcing Buy Ontario Requirements
|
AMO continues to hear from municipalities and industry about implementation challenges, including added time, cost and complexity.
More than 98 per cent of municipal procurement for non-construction goods and services was already from businesses with Canadian addresses before the Buy Ontario Act came into effect.

Strengthen Emergency Preparedness: Apply now for Community Emergency Preparedness Grant (CEPG)!
The Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response (MEPR) has launched the 2026-2027 round of the CEPG, helping strengthen local emergency preparedness and response capacity across Ontario. Municipalities with populations under 100,000 residents (Statistics Canada 2021 Census data), not previously funded, are eligible. Applications close October 7, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. EST.
