Alumni and Friends,
Welcome to the latest issue of E-Viewpoints, the newsletter for the College of Health and Human Sciences. There are many exciting things happening within our college, and I look forward to sharing them with you.
As Texas Tech recorded a record enrollment number this fall, we have been delighted to welcome new and returning students to our college. Our students have enjoyed seeing the new college name featured throughout the building, as well as renovations to some of our most utilized spaces, including El Centro, our main student study area.
The embrace of the college name change is evident in our faculty continuing to find new and innovative ways to integrate health in their research endeavors. A few of the numerous projects include telehealth to meet the needs of individuals and families who are unable to travel, creation of custom medical braces by our design faculty, impacting obesity through our Nutritional Sciences research teams, retirement planning and living to help families make choices for a securer financial future, sustainability efforts in the retail management space, curriculum to equip future teachers, and intergenerational communication and connection via digital communication. These examples are just a few of the many topics that our college’s researchers are focusing on as they continue to work towards our collective goal of improving and enhancing the human condition.
As we look ahead, I would like to invite you all to join us for our Annual Homecoming Parade Watch Party on Friday, October 18th, from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. This is always a wonderful time for us to gather and celebrate our college and university, I hope you can make it. As always, feel free to reach out to me at any time with feedback or questions.
