A Celebration of Living Well
|
Our annual Living Well Luncheon, hosted by the A.G. Rhodes Board of Advisors, was held this month and brought together supporters and friends for an inspiring afternoon celebrating healthy aging and community. We are grateful to Georgia Natural Gas, our presenting sponsor, and to our sponsors, table hosts, and guests who made the day possible. View the recap video here below and learn more about the event at agrhodes.org/livingwell.

Mayor Andre Dickens Includes A.G. Rhodes in
Citywide Day of Service
|
We were honored to be part of Mayor Dickens’ celebration of his inauguration and host volunteer projects at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta and A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods for ATL Cares! A Day of Service. This day of service, organized by the Inaugural Committee for Mayor, brought together citizens across the city for 6,100 hours of service to celebrate Atlanta’s 61st Mayor.
Thank you, Mayor Dickens, for joining us at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta to meet our residents and staff and help make the always-fun BINGO even more special! And thank you to all of the volunteers and board members for coming out and showing us how much you care!

A.G. Rhodes Celebrates MLK Day
|
Elders, volunteers, and staff at all three A.G. Rhodes homes worked together on MLK Day to assemble hygiene kits that were then donated to local homeless shelters. Thank you to volunteers from The Lovett School and Mocha Moms for your service and for helping us make MLK Day a "day on, not a day off!"

Hands-On and People-Focused

Employee Spotlight: Ayodeji “DJ” Owoyomi, PT, DPT, cert DN
Director of Therapy Operations
| |
|
| For Ayodeji “DJ” Owoyomi, service is not a professional philosophy—it is a way of life shaped long before his career in healthcare began.
“Growing up in Nigeria instilled in me a deep appreciation for every achievement in life,” he said. “I was privileged to be raised by parents who devoted their lives to serving the needs of others in their community.”
That upbringing would ultimately guide DJ to a career in healthcare, a 20-year tenure at A.G. Rhodes, and decades of service that extend far beyond the walls of one organization—or one country.

The Heart Behind the Happenings
|
Behind every celebration, creative program, and shared smile is a dedicated Activities Professional. During Activities Professionals Week, we honored the team members who thoughtfully design and lead experiences that foster joy, purpose, and connection throughout our homes.

Senior Day at the Capitol |
Senior Day at the Capitol is an annual advocacy event held on February 11, 2026, organized by the Georgia Council on Aging and the Coalition of Advocates for Georgia's Elderly (CO-AGE). Seniors and advocates gather to discuss policies that benefit older adults and engage directly with their state legislators. We are proud of our A.G. Rhodes residents and staff for being part of this important day!
