Dr. Senthil Selvaraj Wins 2019 IANC Research Fellowship Award

Senthil Selvaraj, MD
ASNC congratulates Senthil Selvaraj, MD, recipient of the prestigious Institute for the Institute for the Advancement of Nuclear Cardiology (IANC) Research Fellowship Award. The award will be presented at ASNC2019, Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m., in Chicago. Dr. Selvaraj’s research proposal “Comparison of the Short-Term Effect of Dietary Carbohydrate Restriction Versus Exogenous Ketone Supplementation on Myocardial Glucose Suppression and Timing to Achieve a State of Ketosis Using Serial Imaging on a State-of-the Art Total-Body PET System” aims to compare dietary modification versus exogenous therapy to achieve ketosis that will optimize PET imaging for cardiac sarcoid as well as identify serum metabolic markers that can be used to confirm appropriate suppression of myocardial glucose uptake to improve the detection of cardiac sarcoid.
