14 new faculty join College of Business for 2020-21 academic year
Fourteen new faculty have been welcomed into the College of Business fold for the 2020-21 academic year. The new faculty join the College at a time of record growth in enrollment, fundraising and infrastructure. The College of Business’ new home, a 176,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art building, has been completed and will become a beehive of activity when pandemic conditions allow for its full occupancy.

HR’s talents bring $5,000 to College of Business scholarship fund
The College of Business’ general scholarship fund has received a boost from Clemson University’s Office of Human Resources as a result of an innovative recruiting campaign it created. HR’s Talent Acquisition team recently won the College and University Professional Association’s (CUPA) HR Innovation Award. The award, attributed to HR’s “Picture Yourself Here” campaign, includes a $5,000 prize, which will be directed to the business school’s general scholarship fund.

Media Forensics Hub helps spot social media disinformation
Patrick Warren, associate professor in the John E. Walker Department of Economics, is one of two researchers uncovering many examples of social media disinformation campaigns. Now, he and colleague Darren Linvill, associate professor in the Department of Communication, are helping others spot examples of social media trolling. Their Media Forensics Hub in the Watt Family Innovation Center is helping all social media users better understand how to spot disinformation and stop it from spreading.

Finance student’s designs for career as clothier gets an early start
Having inherited his artistic abilities and being trained in sewing by a close friend, Matthew Jones is a College of Business finance major who is tailoring a career to suit his interests. Vetted, the 20-year-old’s clothing line that launched in March, has fueled Matthew’s creative spirit and captured the interest of early adopters of his “no-two-pieces-are-alike” clothing.

Clemson Intersect creates opportunities for business, engineering, technology students
Clemson Intersect is a collaborative project between the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences (CECAS) and the College of Business. It is designed to strengthen the relationship between business and the technical degree programs and will focus on the mutual goals of both colleges in areas of Business Analytics, Value Chain and Advanced Manufacturing, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Leadership while gaining exposure to the global economy.
