The U.S. Air Force Academy Association & Foundation has recently learned of the death of Mr. William W. Maywhort, CS-03, Class of 1968. Mr. Maywhort passed away on Aug. 15, 2026, in Athens, Georgia.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 9, 2026, at the USAFA Cemetery, 3026 Parade Loop, USAF Academy, Colorado. Base access information will be distributed when available.
His family has suggested in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in his name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the Air Force Academy Foundation.
Condolences may be left online with his obituary.
