This week is designated as South Carolina Severe Weather and Flood Safety Week to help people take proper safety precautions against severe storms, tornadoes and flash floods. The week is jointly sponsored by the South Carolina Emergency Management Division and the National Weather Service.

This year's Spring Plant Sale is scheduled for April 4-5 and will feature a variety of plants, including hard-to-find native species, seasonal annuals and vegetable transplants. Early access to the Plant Sale begins April 4 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for Friends of the Garden and is open to the public April 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dr. Steven Martin was named an Honorary Alumnus of Clemson University. The designation is a special recognition reserved for unwavering supporters of Clemson whose passion for the University is undeniable, even though they never officially attended Clemson.

Clemson alumni Jody ’79 and Kathy ’80 Hunter are challenging the Clemson family to support hiring student assistants to work for the Libraries, pledging $50,000 to match donations to the Libraries student assistants fund. This means people giving to the fund can double their impact up to a possible $100,000. Clemson Libraries employs more than 100 student workers each year, making it one of the largest student employers on campus.
