Did you know October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month?
To celebrate, The Disability Resource Center, DAPi, and The Career Resource Center are proud to present "Why Inclusive Employment Matters," a talk given by Tracy Powell-Rudy from Integrate Advisors.
We hope you will join us in recognizing National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) by attending this important event focused on understanding neurodiversity in the workplace. NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and promotes inclusive employment practices. This event will explore how embracing neurodiversity not only fosters a more supportive and innovative work environment but also helps us become better coworkers, leaders, and educators. It's a valuable opportunity to learn how we can all play a role in creating workplaces where everyone can thrive, especially when the percentage of neurodivergant professionals in the workforce is only expected to increase.
This is an open invitation to everyone from the campus community--students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend the event on Wednesday October 8th from 1:45-3:00pm in SUB 62/63. The event will also be livestreamed on Webex (link to follow).
Refreshments will be served from 1:45-2:00pm, with Tracy's talk beginning at 2:00pm.
If you have any questions or require accommodations in order to participate, please reach out to Amanda Becker-Torres (beckerta@newpaltz.edu) or Ashley Guerrero (guerrera@newpaltz.edu).
We look forward to seeing you there!
Best,
