UIC College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Initiative (LASURI)
The UIC College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Initiative (LASURI) is a college-wide program that supports faculty-student research in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Its mission is to make undergraduate research integral to teaching, learning, and scholarship in LAS by providing support to undergraduates and faculty involved in research collaborations. The competition is held once a year in the spring. It is limited to students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
There will be an information session on Wednesday, March 7th, 2018 from 10:30 - 11:30AM at 850 UH

UIC Heritage Garden Summer 2018 Internship Programs
The UIC Heritage Garden is pleased to announce their paid summer internship positions available for sophomore and junior students.
There are two types of summer internship programs: General Intern Position and Photography and Media Position.

UIC Leadership Retreat
The Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement is excited to announce we are now accepting applcations for the LeaderShape Institute. This is a 6-day and 5-night leadership retreat teaching visioning, relationship building, and the importance of leadership with intergrity.
The Institute will take place Saturday, May 12th - Thursday, May 17th at an off-campus retreat center.
Application is due on Friday, March 16th, 2018. The only requirement for attendence is you must be returning to UIC in the Fall Semester.

2018 Latino Caucus Foundation Scholarship
The Chicago Latino Caucus Foundation is selecting applicants of good character and high adacemic achievements. The scholarship will be a one-time, $5,000 non-renewing award delievered to the college or university listed on the application.
Deadline for the application is on Friday, April 6th, 2018. All required documents must be mailed postmarked by this submission date. Download PDF Flyer.

Fellowship Workshop

There will be a Fellowship Workshop on Tuesday, March 13th, 2018. The event will take place in the L@s GANAS Lunch and Learn in the University Hall Room 2650.

Come meet Kim Germain, Director of the Office of External Fellowships, who will lead a conversation on how fellowships fit into student goals of attending graduate and professional school. Lunch will be provided.

Racism as a Public Health Issue

This event will feature  keynote speaker, Dr. Camara Jones: Senior Fellow of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute and Cardiovascular Research Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine. As a family physician and epidemiologist, Dr. Jones’ work focuses on the impacts of racism on the health and well-being of the nation.

Dolores Huertoa will be the WGS Women's History Month Keynote Speaker.As a community organizer, union organizer, and civil rights advocate, she has been one of the most important leaders in American social justice movements from the 1960’s to the present.
 Free and open to all. Classes are welcome.
