Relaxed Dress Code FAQ

Below are answers to some questions we have received about our relaxed pandemic dress code this year.
  • Sweatpants are OK to wear
  • Athletic shorts and skirts are ok but must be at least fingertip length
  • No words/slogans/sayings on shirts
  • No large logos/logos greater than 2 inches
  • Leggings/athletic tights may only be worn with shirts or tunics that are fingertip length and/or shorts
  • No oversized sweatshirts that completely cover shorts
  • No masks with valves, please
  • Please ensure your child's mask fits properly, especially with younger students.

Flu Shots

If it is not part of your family's annual preventative health routine, please consider a flu shot for your child this fall. This winter will be challenging for symptom identification as many COVID symptoms mimic flu symptoms. While flu shots are a family decision, if we can reduce the incidents of flu this year, we can potentially reduce the need for quarantine and COVID testing.
Thank you for observing our sick policy rigorously this year.

COVID Reporting Protocol/Form

If someone in your family has symptoms, has been exposed, or is being tested for COVID-19, please inform NURSE MABEN IMMEDIATELY IN WRITING via the COVID-19 Reporting Form link below. (The link is also on the school website.) Upon receipt of this information, St M's new school nurse will contact the family. The confidentiality of the diagnosed student or teacher will be maintained.
For all health-related questions this year, please contact Nurse Shawnetta Maben at smaben@stmschool.net.

COVID Protocols

Below please find two handy flowcharts that outline protocols regarding how to respond if someone in your family has a known COVID exposure or is experiencing COVID-like symptoms with no known exposure.
The first steps should always be to stay home, call your doctor, complete our COVID Reporting form, and email Nurse Maben at smaben@stmschool.net.

Carpool Safety

A friendly reminder that the GREEN LOOP (between Hubbard and Singleton Halls) is a no-passing zone during pickup and drop off. While it can try one’s patience to wait for a car in front of you to dislodge children and their materials,  please don’t drive around it. We want everyone to stay safe during carpool.

Got Books?

We are still missing a lot of classroom text books from the spring when we had students bring them home for remote learning.
Please have your child search at home for any St M books and return them to school ASAP.
