On the film and music scene, cameras are rolling in Oklahoma this month on two productions utilizing the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program, Judgment and Runaway. We’re thrilled to welcome three new projects in our rebate queue – The Recovery, The Washita Valley and NBC’s hit television series American Ninja Warrior, which will be filming at our State Capitol in May. Make sure your listing in our Production Guide is current as we direct filmmakers to this resource on a daily basis.
Songs were heard in the Oklahoma Room at Folk Alliance in Kansas City last month, and more voices will be heard by many talented Oklahoma musicians at the Tulsa Boom Factory at SXSW this month.

FEATURED FILM ARTIST OF THE MONTH
Lorraine Comfort has been an active member of the state’s film industry for over three years. In 2012, Comfort made a career change, leaving her job in sales and finance of eight years to pursue her passion for film. She immediately enrolled in OCCC’s film program and found work within her first semester. Comfort has served as a production assistant in various capacities on a number of film, television and commercial projects including Rudderless, Street Outlaws, The Posthuman Project and Judgment, which is currently filming in the Oklahoma City area. Additionally, Comfort also served as associate producer on the hit A&E show, The First 48.
“The film process in general is so satisfying because you get to see the creative development come to fruition,” said Comfort. “The entire process from start to finish is both challenging and gratifying. Working with my Oklahoma peers is incredible because you know you’re working with skilled professionals who do outstanding work in what they produce.”
After Judgment wraps in Oklahoma City, Comfort is slated to work on Season 8 of Fox’s hit television series, MasterChef.
FEATURED MUSIC ARTIST OF THE MONTH
With sounds in his arsenal that include country, folk, jazz and blues, Travis Linville expresses himself on more than ten instruments, including acoustic and electric guitar, the dobro, pedal steel guitar and the mandolin. Linville seeked out guitar legend Joe Settlemires for instruction and before he graduated high school, he had already landed a spot with a gigging country band and was playing in clubs every weekend.
The culmination of his journeyman’s path came when Linville was invited to join Willie Nelson on stage at one of the Texas legend’s annual picnics. He cites that moment as the one in which his desire to forge his own legacy was born. Keeping a relentless schedule, Linville started taking gigs backing up regional musicians while co-writing, producing and recording three albums with the Burtschi Brothers.

In 2007, he recorded and released See You Around, 20 tracks showcasing himself as a solo artist and composer while paying tribute to some of his guitar idols with interpretations of songs from Doc Watson, Jerry Reed and Merle Travis. More recently, his many years as a producer of other people’s albums (by his own count, 50 or more) has been put to use with 2012’s Sun or Moon EP and his current release Out on a Wire.
THAT'S A WRAP
