Kate Neubert-Lechner, Executive Director |
| Dear Playhouse Friends,
With the end of 2018 upon us, I wanted to take a moment to thank you. This year, together we have shared so many stories that have made us laugh, touched our hearts, filled us with joy, and made us think. We have traveled so many places together without ever having to leave West 10th Street. Our staff has been busy out in the community, using the power of the performing arts to encourage early childhood literacy in eleven different early learning centers with PLAYtime; creating two new, original plays with children in residence at Sarah Reed Children’s Center; producing a new musical performance with students at the Elizabeth Lee Black School that was performed on the Playhouse stage; leading workshops with children and families from Big Brothers, Big Sisters & The Caring Place before welcoming them as guests to performances on our stage; working with the Jefferson Society to help theatre fuel a discussion that has real consequences for our community at large, and beyond. Those examples merely scratch the surface of what your Erie Playhouse has been up to over the last year. So, thank you. Without your support, none of what we do would be possible. There are so many lives in our community that are transformed in one way or another because you believe in power of art along with us. I hope your days have been and continue to be merry and bright and I can’t wait journey with you in 2019. I wish you all the happiest of holidays,
Kate

Olivia Clinton and Avery Fiscus
(Matilda) |
| MEET THE TALENT
Meet Avery Fiscus and Olivia Clinton—Matilda, in Matilda the Musical! Both girls are new to the Erie Playhouse stage, and we're delighted for you to get to know them!
Olivia is 9 years old and attends third grade in Titusville. Her desire to pursue acting sparked after performing in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Academy Theatre in Meadville. Olivia most recently played the role of Baby June in Gypsy, also at the Academy Theatre. Along with acting she enjoys singing, playing with friends and her twin brother; and spending time outdoors Avery is also 9 years old and is a fourth grader at McKean Elementary School, where she's an avid reader. After being inspired by Judy Garland at the age of three, she's been dancing at Long’s School of Dance for the past six years. This is her first show!
These delightful actresses are excited to share this new adventure with all of you!

PLAYTIME!PLAYtime is kicking off the holiday season in their classrooms with a beautiful story, "Boxes for Katje" by Candace Fleming, about two small communities separated by one big war and one wide ocean brought together through a cake of soap and a bar of chocolate... simple acts of kindness. As we sing “Give a little somethin’ to someone in need and it will come back to you,” we are reminded of the great blessings we have through the gift of this wonderful program and all the support we get from our Erie Playhouse family!
