August 14, 2024 

Mulch has been laid, weeds have been pulled, decks have been power washed, and pollinator gardens are thriving (as per usual). We are *so* ready to welcome you back to campus! (And to our new-to-FSW and second-year families, we can't wait to see you TOMORROW)!

All smiles this week during our faculty/staff workdays. (I swear this is a candid shot! Everyone was so happy to share out ideas and resources after a summer spent apart).

Such wonderful energy on campus this week as our teachers returned (refreshed and very much looking forward to welcoming back students next week).

Next Tuesday the 20th--our first day of the 24-25 school year--is significant for the Friends School of Wilmington as it marks the 30th year anniversary of our founding. A significant achievement and certainly one that was never guaranteed.

Pre-Work Survey Open for Responses

Did you know that if you are a parent or guardian of a Friends School of Wilmington student, you are automatically a member of the Parent Association. There is no fee to join and there are no requirements for membership! Please take a moment to fill out our pre-work survey so we can identify opportunities for connection among parents and different ways to give back to FSW as a PA cohort.

Let's Go EarthQuakers! Co-Ed Soccer Season is Underway

Francisco Field had about 25 extra visitors yesterday afternoon as our 2024-2025 Middle School Co-Ed Soccer team took the field for their first day of practice! Coached by Jason Zombron and Colin Bates, the group hit the ground running (literally) in preparation for the busy season ahead!

Updated Technology Policy

To all of our FSW Families—Stepping Stones through 8th grade—please note that students may not use game watches, smart watches, or cell phones during the school day. These devices should either stay at home or be turned off and stowed in a backpack until the student departs from campus. Improper use will result in the watch and/or phone being held at the front desk for parent pick-up at the end of the day. 

Why, you may ask? We want to set students up for success! Within our learning environment, it is unfair for us as a faculty to expect students to manage responsible use of technology when these skills have not yet developed. It is also important that all family communications go through Susan at the Front Office or directly with your student’s classroom teacher. If you have any questions, please reach out to Preschool Coordinator Ciara, Lower School Student Coordinator Martina, or Middle School Director Amy.
