Center for Musculoskeletal Research Grant Program seeks applications


The Center for Musculoskeletal Research supports scientific investigation and clinical dissemination in the area of musculoskeletal research through annual pilot grant funding. Musculoskeletal research is a broad field that includes acute injuries and persistent disorders that affect muscles, bones, joints, and associated injuries.

The Center for Musculoskeletal Research will fund up to 3 clinical research projects in the area of musculoskeletal research. Funding for each project will be up to $10,000. One of these projects will be funded in collaboration with the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine and will need to focus on the area of mind and body practices (e.g. acupuncture, meditation, spinal manipulation, yoga, tai chi, health coaching) as part of an integrative approach to care.

These grants are intended to support discrete clinical or translational research projects involving humans that can be completed in a 12-month timeframe, by June 30, 2021.

The submission deadline is April 3, 2020. Applicants will be notified by May 15 for a July 1, 2020 start date.

 Health Equity Innovation Awards

VUMC’s Office of Health Equity is pleased to announce “Health Equity Innovation Awards” which support innovative ideas and solutions to advance health equity.  The awards are built upon the principle that there are assets, opportunities and innovative ideas within VUMC and in our communities that can advance health equity.  Advancing health equity ensures that all people have the opportunity to achieve their optimal level of health.    

Awardees will receive up to $10,000 in support from the Office of Health Equity. Brief pitches from faculty, employees and students are due February 28th, 2020.
