The fifth edition of this form book provides procedural forms for use with the Missouri Supreme Court Rules of Civil Procedure. It updates the previous edition to reflect the Missouri Supreme Court Rule revisions and amendments up to and including August 28, 2019. The forms are “procedural in nature” and include comments which appear for the most part to clarify forms or to alert the reader to practice considerations. The previous editions of the form book have received substantial use and acceptance by Missouri Lawyers throughout the State. It is hoped that this edition, designed as previous editions, to stimulate clear and precise procedural practice and to assist the Court, will continue to be of significant assistance to the bench and bar of the State.
Jeffrey Berman, UMKC School of Law Associate Dean and Professor of Law Emeritus, received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the City College of New York in 1963, his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1966 and his Master of Science in Law and Society from the University of Denver in 1974. Professor Berman specializes in civil procedure, evidence and trial advocacy. In addition to updating this edition of the Missouri Rules of Civil Procedure Formbook, he teaches part time (Applied Evidence) and has authored the updates for the fourth, fifth and sixth edition (forthcoming) of Missouri Evidence Restated, published by the Missouri Bar, continuing the work of Patrick D. Kelly, former Dean of UMKC School of Law.
The author is grateful to Jeffrey A. Burns, a partner in the Kansas City firm of Dollar, Burns & Becker, L.C., who helped directly in writing this fifth edition, by reviewing each form, providing significant edits and numerous practical lawyering comments.
