NOTE: The Prayer Warrior currently is mailed to approximately 486 people who have communicated to the Alumni Office that they wish to pray for Sterling College. We are expanding this prayer ministry to the entire Warrior Family: current campus community, alumni - both graduates and former students, and friends. December 1 Finals begin one week from today. Pray for our students that they will use their time wisely, study well, get plenty of rest and be prepared for success.
2 Pray for President Scott Rich as he leads the college in wrapping up another calendar year. Ask the Lord to fill him with peace, joy, and contentment as the fall semester and the year comes to an end.
3 Women's and men's basketball teams play today against Kansas Wesleyan. Pray for the Warriors to compete well, represent SC positively, and honor the Lord.
4 Pray for Micah and Ava Bachert. Micah works in the Maintenance dept. and Ava is the RD for Evans Hall. Pray for their impact on the women of Evans and across campus.
5 Lift up Marisa (Giorgetti '05) Callan, Associate Professor of Music. Pray for her family and her work with students. Ask the Lord to deeply and richly bless Marisa.
6 Pray for all who recruit for Sterling College and those they are recruiting. Ask the Lord that strong relationships are built and that the goal of 260 new students for the Fall '26 is met.
7 Scripture focus: Psalm 1: 1-2 "Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night."
8 Thank God today for Ben Ray '82, as he celebrates his birthday. Ben serves on the Sterling College Board of Trustees. Pray that he has a very special day.
9 Today is Board of Trustees member, Kysha (Nichol '09) Totten's birthday. Ask the Lord to richly bless her.
10 This is a special day for Heather McCreery '90 as she celebrates her birthday. Heather serves on the Board of Trustees. Lift Heather up today as you pray.
11 In the midst of the hecticness of finals week, pray for our students to enjoy the last days of the Fall semester.
12 Today is the last day of finals, and for some, the last day of their time as a student at SC. For those graduating at semester, pray that the Lord will give them discernment and peace about the next step in their lives.
13 Many students are traveling home today. Ask the Lord to guide their travels and bless all students over Christmas break.
14 Scripture focus: Psalm 119:18 "Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law."
15 Even though the Fall semester is completed and students aren't on campus; there is much work still to be completed. Ask the Lord to bless faculty and staff who are finishing year-end tasks and responsibilities.
16 Pray for all families reunited over the Christmas break. Ask God's perfect peace to fill the homes of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.
17 Pray for deep mind, body, and soul replenishing rest for our students over this Christmas break.
18 As prospective students and their families are having discussions and making decisions about where they will attend college in the Fall of 2026, pray that the Lord would guide the right students and the right number of students to Sterling.
19 Pray that hundreds of alumni and friends are moved to give generous, calendar year-end gifts of support to Sterling College.
20 Pray for all faculty and staff who are now on Christmas break. The campus will be closed until January 5th. Pray that all faculty and staff find great joy, peace, and rest over the break.
21 Scripture focus: I Peter 3:18 "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit."
22 It is just a few days before Christmas. Are you prepared? Presents wrapped? Dinner planned out? In the business of it all, take a moment to breathe and reflect. Reflect on what Jesus did. Praise Him. Thank Him. Peace be with you.
23 Pray for Mary (Horton '68) Knecht as she celebrates her birthday. Mary has served faithfully on the SC Board of Trustees for many years. Thank God for her and ask Him to richly bless her.
24 As people are busy preparing for Christmas Eve gatherings, remember those who will be alone today and tomorrow. Rember those who will be away from family. Pray that the light of Christ and His presence will be with them.
25 Merry Christmas from the Sterling College community! On this day, when we celebrate the birth of Christ, may you know His joy, His peace, and His love.
26 Thank God today for all He has done in your life!
27 Pray for and thank God for Dr. Wai-Foong Hong, Professor of Biology. She has been a faithful servant in the biology department for 19-years.
28 Scripture focus: I John 2: 15-16 "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world."
29 Ask the Lord to bless SC with the needed funds and students to continue to fulfill the work and mission of the college set forth 138-years ago. Thank God for His faithfulness.
30 Pray for the Sterling College Lady Warriors basketball team as they take on the Graceland Yellowjackets from Lamoni, IA today.
31 As 2025 concludes, we thank God for how He has moved at Sterling College this year. Lives have been impacted for His glory in so many ways. Thank God for His work in your life and pray for His close presence throughout 2026.
