1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
New International Version (NIV)
Can you learn from a whippersnapper?  Characteristics of millennials continue to capture the national attention and conversation.  How many times have you heard, "All millennials want . . ." Be skeptical of blanket descriptions of the characteristics of any generation of people.  It turns out that the differences within the tastes of people transcend generalized generational descriptions.   All millennials breathe.  That one is true.

Paul wrote to Timothy and encouraged him not to allow his own age to limit him.  When I answered God's call in my early teens, my pastor Jim Hallcom said, "If God had wanted you to be a pastor when you turned 35 he would have called you then."    Then he put me in the pulpit.  God uses people at all different ages.

Be encouraged today:  the Ancient of Days is in no way limited by our age.  Jeremiah and Timothy thought they were too young.  Abraham and Sarah thought they were too old.  God knew they were exactly the kinds of people he wanted to use.  I remember when I was too young to be the pastor of the churches I served.  Nobody makes that accusation anymore!  Our God is timeless.  Let's live exemplary lives before all of God's people until he takes us home.
 Pray with me:
Father, thank you for putting us in your world at this exact moment.  For such a time as this, use us today in all the ways you choose.  Help us to live what we believe so that the generations which follow may find us faithful.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
