You have made it half way through your fall semester, congratulations! We hope you have been able to develop healthy study habits, balance your commute, academics and have connected with other students at UIC.
Here are a few things to add to your to-do list to ensure you wrap up the first half of your semester successfully!
  • Complete your 2023-2024 FAFSA
  • Meet with your academic advisor 
  • Start viewing the spring 2023 schedule of classes  
  • Check your midterm grades and talk to your professors/advisor if you have concerns

Liz and Sophia attended the National HACU Conference in San Diego. They networked with Latinx professionals all over the country and learned about opportunities and events they can bring back to L@s GANAS to help students succeed. 
Emergency Funding for UIC Students

U & I Emergency Fund 

This fund provides temporary, short-term financial assistance to currently enrolled students who are unable to meet essential expenses due to a temporary or unexpected hardship. This emergency funding program is designed to offer financial assistance to students in the form of one-time awards (typically not exceeding $1000). Please be prepared to show documentation supporting claims. 
Examples of expenses typically covered: overdue rent, eviction, medical emergencies, and safety needs. For more information click here
