Accounting Students Offer Tax Preparation Services |
At Walsh University, servant leadership goes beyond the classroom. This tax season, accounting students from the Federal Tax II class are using their technical skills to serve the community by preparing tax returns through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in collaboration with United Way of Stark County. Before participating in the clinics, these students completed IRS certification exams in both Basic and Advanced tax preparation, ensuring they are fully equipped to handle various tax situations. Their efforts help low- to moderate-income taxpayers file their returns at no cost, securing much-needed refunds while gaining invaluable real-world experience.
These free tax services are available to anyone in the Walsh community who qualifies (household earnings under $67,000 per year). Please click here to schedule an appointment, or to learn more about the program contact Professor Amanda Dalpiaz at 330-994-8482.
