We are pleased to report that SUNY Oneonta has received $7,907,425 through the third round of the American Rescue Plan Act/Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF III) to be disbursed in the form of emergency grants to eligible students during the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. Funds may be used for any component of a student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to Coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care (including mental health care) or childcare.
Emergency block grants will be prioritized for undergraduate and graduate students with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that demonstrates exceptional financial need (EFCs within the range of $0 and $14,615). As our next step toward disbursing HEERF III block funds, eligible students will receive an email from EmergencyRelief@oneonta.edu with further information about HEERF III assistance and details about the distribution process.
Matriculated students who are not eligible to file a FAFSA will be invited to submit an application for a discretionary award. Eligibility will be based on financial need and any who receive the award will be notified individually by email.
Students are encouraged to reach out to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at any time their family experiences a change in financial circumstances that differs from the information reported on the FAFSA. If a review of submitted information results in a change in EFC, the amount of emergency grant may be adjusted.
