You're the best!
You're the best!
Thank You!
Hello Bike Count Volunteers!
We wanted to take one last opportunity to thank you all for your tremendous dedication to Portland's 2017 Bike Count this summer. You are truly amazing!
This year we collectively counted bikes at 272 intersections - blasting last year's record 257 sites. This includes 15 brand new sites that had never been counted. Wow!!
In total, we tallied 48,580 people on bikes - that's more than the population of Caribbean island nation Sint Maarten, a constituent country of the Netherlands! (And we are so close to catching up to the Faroe Islands.)
This year 40 sites saw their highest count since the dawn of bike counts (er, around the year 2000). That's more than 14% of all count sites!
Please pat yourself on the back and know that each of those 544 count hours is very much appreciated. Click here to find count totals for all your favorite sites!
And now what you've all been waiting for, a few special recognitions for some very special volunteers...

High Score Heroes
Everyone (because we all win when more people bike!)
Through wild fires, an eclipse, rain, and hectic schedules, you persisted. A heartfelt thank you from PBOT to all of you for completing a bike count or two (or 15) and contributing toward a better, bikier Portland.
To all 118 of you with busy, crowded, noisy, smelly, unruly, uneventful counts that nevertheless stuck it out to the finish!
