On Sunday, November 24, 2024, the Department of Campus Safety received a report of a robbery that took place at approximately 8:20 p.m. near the middle, west side entrance at Washington Place of Washington Square Park in Manhattan.
The victim, an NYU student, was walking through the park when they were approached by a group of individuals who confronted the student, stating, "Give me your money or get fists to your face." The student stated they did not have any money. A member of the group took a box of cookies and a bottle of water away from the student and the group fled east.
The student reported no physical injuries and was offered supportive resources. The student declined to report to NYPD.
Description of Suspects: The student reports the suspects are male-presenting with dark complexions. The individuals were wearing tops with black hoods, black pants, and black beanies.
