New Journals coming to MUSE in 2016
MUSE is pleased to announce that six journals are confirmed to date to join MUSE in 2016.
New 2016 journals:
  •  African Arts
  •  The Hawaiian Journal of History
  •  Huntington Library Quarterly
  •  Journal of Animal Ethics
  •  Labor: Studies in Working-Class History of the Americas
  •  Lutheran Quarterly
All new collection titles become part of the Premium Collection. Additional titles will be announced over the next couple of months as contracts are signed with the publishers.
MUSE is KBART Compliant!
Project MUSE is very pleased to announce that MUSE is now compliant with KBART Phase II Recommended Practice.
KBART is a NISO (National Information Standards Organization) recommended practice that seeks to improve the quality and interaction of data between all members of the knowledge base supply chain including libraries, vendors, publishers, and knowledge base providers.
MUSE book and journal data is available for downloading in approved KBART Phase II format. Look for links to the KBART download pages on the For Librarians section on the MUSE site.
Latest Back Issues Added to MUSE
The following journals recently added back issues. MUSE journal subscribers that currently have access to the following titles now have access to the archival issues:
  • Arthuriana  (Premium Collection)
  • Comitatus: A Journal of Medieval and Renaissance Studies (Premium)
  • Language (Premium, Standard, Basic Research, Basic College)
  • Social Research: An International Quarterly (Premium, Social Sciences)
  • Syllecta Classica (Premium) Complete run from 1989.
Back Issues coming on July 1:
  • Franciscan Studies (Premium and Humanities Collections)
  • University of Toronto Quarterly (Premium, Standard, Basic Research, Basic College, Humanities)

Collection Journals vs. Hosted Journals
MUSE previously announced that in addition to offering access to journals in collections, it is also offering access to individual journals hosted on the MUSE platform.
Hosted journals are additional titles provided by MUSE publishers and are available to institutions as single title subscriptions. Hosted journals are not included in any of the journal collections, including the Premium Collection.
An institution may subscribe to the hosted journals individually or in addition to a journals collection subscription.
The number of hosted journals is expected to grow over time as more publishers participate in this option.
Reminder About Book Collections
Books in 2015 collections will continue to launch throughout the year. What this means for libraries that purchased 2015 book collections is that new books will be going online through the end of the year until all books promised for a collection have launched.
Book Collections 2014 and earlier are no longer adding books as all the books in those collections have launched and been online since at least the end of last year. Libraries with these collections do not need to be looking for updates.  If you have any questions about book collections that have been purchased for your institution, please contact MUSE Customer support.
MUSE Partners with The Wikipedia Library
MUSE is pleased to be listed as a resource under The Wikipedia Library.  The Wikipedia Library helps Wikipedia editors access reliable sources to improve Wikipedia. This means that MUSE content will be available as a research and reference tool to be used by Wikipedia editors when preparing topics for Wikipedia.
