Giving Thanks . . . and Respect

Can all of us enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving and avoid the hurtful stereotypes of the “pilgrims and Indians” narrative we may have grown up with? Yes! says Anthropology faculty member Abbie Adams. We can if we focus on common values at the heart of the holiday: generosity, gratitude, community, and good food—including many contributions from Native Americans.
“I love what I do, but I also want to let the world know that there is a beautiful, amazing story around every corner.”
