Your GW Vision Benefits: Coverage, Exams, and More
Regular vision exams are an important part of maintaining good eye health. Taking advantage of your vision benefits allows for the timely detection and treatment of potential eye conditions. In addition to helping maintain clear vision, routine eye care also plays an important role in supporting your overall health and well-being.
In addition to a preventive eye exam, GW’s vision insurance plans provide coverage for eyeglasses (including standard single vision, bifocal, or trifocal lenses), lens coatings such as standard scratch-resistant coating, frames, or contact lenses in place of glasses, depending on your plan. GW’s vision insurance plans operate on an annual basis, and eligibility for services is determined by the date of your last exam. To receive your annual vision exam benefit, it must be scheduled at least 366 days after your previous exam. If you do not use the vision coverage available to you during the year, you may miss out on benefits that you've already paid or voluntarily elected for the plan year.
