1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
New International Version (NIV)
“The only people who like change are babies with wet diapers.”  Even worse, do you ever doubt that people change?  Or do people remain the same, “world without end“?
As Paul wrote this majestic chapter about the resurrection, he confirmed that Christ was indeed raised from the dead, offering hope to those who die.  Paul saw the Parousia or Second Coming as a great resurrection in which the dead would be raised, and the living would be changed.
This verse gives me hope every Saturday morning as I recite it with my brother in Christ.  “We will all be changed.”  I will not always be the way that I am.  In fact, the New Testament teaches us that the change has already begun.  God is changing our minds so that he can make us more like his beloved Son Jesus.  Good news:  it won’t always be this way.  Christ’s resurrection planted the seed of hope which will bring all of us to life.
Pray with me:
Father, thank you for the hope of the resurrection.  As we wait for our “change to come,” please continue your work of sanctification in our souls.  Make us more like Christ today than we were yesterday.  Call us higher, we pray, in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
Joyfully,
