TOP QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK
| |
Please find the most frequently asked questions that our staff has been receiving this week through phone calls and emails:
Is it OK if I drop a class? As you know, F-1/J-1 students must be full-time. Normally, graduate students must have at least 9 credits, undergraduate students must have at least 12 credits. OGS may terminate your record if you are not full-time enrolled. Please refer to our Part-Time Enrollment webpage for the options.Â
I am withdrawing all my classes this semester; I am taking a medical leave this semester; or, I am dropping my class(es) this semester. Is there anything I need to do with OGS? Please note that May 2, 2023 is the academic department deadline for pass/fail grade option and term withdrawal. If you have received any emails from OGS asking you to submit additional information for your medical reduced course load request, you should respond to that email directly.
If you have received an email from OGS warning you of dropping classes or withdrawing from all of your classes, or you have already dropped below full time or withdrawn from the term, you need to schedule an appointment with an OGS advisor as soon as possible.
What should I do if I didn’t file for taxes in time? You can refer to the OGS Tax webpage to reach out to the tax resources we list on the website for guidance. You may also reach out to Sprintax and Glacier Tax Prep, as indicated on our Tax FAQ webpage, to see if there is any guidance they can provide.Â
