Student Success and Partnerships team members support collaborative work to strengthen teacher pipelines in the greater Houston-area through the Houston Community of Practice and the HEART initiatives. Director of Innovative Partnerships, Dr. Angie Taylor, served on a “fish-bowl” panel with representatives from district partner Cy Fair ISD and fellow EPPs from University of Houston and University of Houston-Downtown to showcase “partnership in action.” Partners discussed topics related to Enhanced Residency and the PREP Allotment, making real-time decisions. The Houston-area district leaders shared how helpful the panel was, especially as they navigate similar challenges with implementing the state’s new requirements. They really appreciated the candidness and the willingness of decision makers to share how decisions are made—it gave valuable insight into the process. The SHSU EPP is partnering with 21districts to implement the new Enhanced Residency program for Fall 2026.
