Fire on North Hogback

Thank you to crews from West Metro Fire for containing the three-acre grass fire early Saturday morning on the North Hogback in the Valley. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but natural causes have been ruled out. This serves as a good reminder to prepare your home using Firewise principles. Also, don't forget we are under a temporary Fire Ban.

Bradford Ballfields Meeting Follow-Up Information

On March 9, the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District held a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors regarding the proposed ballfields at Bradford K-8 North. It is estimated that more than 200 residents attended. Following are documents related to the meeting.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact either KCRMD District Manager Melissa Daruna at melissad@kcranch.org or 303-979-1876, ext. 136, or the KCRMD Board.

Master Association Board Election Results

Congratulations to Chris Figge and Erlinda Stafford on their re-election to the Master Association Board. They each will serve another three-year term. Thank you to the other candidates, Angela York, Tammy Malone and Alan Greenhalgh, for stepping up and running for the Board.
Vandalism

Vandalism Over the Weekend

A large amount of vandalism occurred in Bradford Park and other areas of the Valley on Saturday night. The red rocks, trees and some electrical boxes were spray painted. Cleanup is a priority, and staff is working on the issue. If you have any information about the incident, please contact Chris Pacetti at chrisp@kcranch.org or 303-979-1876, ext. 116.

CodeRED Emergency Notifications

In Jefferson County, the CodeRED system (sometimes called “Reverse 911”) allows the county to call citizens to warn them of danger. With it, the county can simultaneously call multiple phones within a designated area to warn residents of flood, fire, tornadoes, chemical spills or dangerous suspects. Within moments, calls reach the affected community to deliver warnings and critical safety instructions. If you have a telephone zapper used to block out telemarketers, or if your phone is blocked to unknown callers, you will not receive CodeRED calls. Landline phone numbers are automatically in the CodeRED database, but if you want to receive calls on your mobile phone or VOIP number, you will need to opt in to this free service at http://jeffco.us/sheriff/emergencies/code-red/.

Summer Camp Lottery

Registration for Preschool, School-Age and Nature summer camps is done through a lottery system. The lottery begins March 20 and closes March 24 at 6 p.m. Please note that Teen/Pre-Teen Camps are not handled through the lottery. Click the link below for camp details and registration forms.
