Congratulations Sandy Miller!
Sandy Miller, Dog Project Leader, will be inducted into the Wisconsin 4-H Hall of Fame!
Deciding to show the farm dog, for a 4-H project when she was in 3rd grade, was the spark which started a life-long love of dogs, service to her community and leadership for Sandy Miller. For 37 years, Sandy Miller has been the cornerstone of the Dunn County 4-H Dog Project. She has developed this project into a multi-dimensional experience which encourages leadership in the young people who participate with their dogs.
Under Sandy’s leadership Rally, Agility, and Puppy Manners were added to the traditional Obedience training. During the time of her leadership, over 1300 youth participated in the Dunn County 4-H Dog Project and Sandy didn’t limit her influence to Dunn County. She also helped Eau Claire, Chippewa, and Barron counties. Sandy brought in many outside resources to enrich the program with new viewpoints, techniques and know-how. She traveled far and wide to gain new training.
Sandy is a well-recognized and respected 4-H Dog Show Judge around Wisconsin. She had an active role in the State Dog Project Committee for over 30 years: In 1990 when Dunn County hosted the State 4-H Dog Show, Sandy served as Show Chairman.
