UWM at Waukesha Students Meet With Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush

A visit from Jeb Bush gave UWM at Waukesha students a rare opportunity to absorb history and political lessons from a former governor who once ran for president. Bush served as Florida governor from 1999 to 2007 and unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for U.S. president in 2016. He spoke with students and community members during a visit April 7 to the Waukesha campus sponsored by the Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership. READ MORE

Lundy Lays Out Vision During Introduction As New Basketball Coach

Bart Lundy made it clear from the very start of his formal introduction as UWM’s new head men’s basketball coach that he would pay excruciatingly close attention to details. Lundy comes to Milwaukee from Division II Queens University of Charlotte, NC. Queens went 30-4 in 2021-22 and made its sixth-straight NCAA Tournament, advancing this season to a regional final. The Royals reached two Final Fours under his watch, which totaled 14 seasons over two separate stints. READ MORE

UWM's best were among outstanding undergraduate student researchers from across the University of Wisconsin System who shared their research findings at Wisconsin’s Capitol Rotunda on March 9. Gold-Medalist Raisman To Speak At UWM

Olympian and sexual assault awareness advocate Aly Raisman will speak at UWM April 19. Raisman was captain of the gold medal winning U.S. women’s gymnastics teams in 2012 and 2016 and has won six Olympic medals overall. Raisman has now been leading the conversation outside the gym with her platform against sexual assault and for self-advocacy, self-care and mental health.
