APALSA Members Compete in Moot Court Competition
Fordham’s Asian Pacific American Law Students Association sent two teams to the Tang Moot Court Regional Competition, organized by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Evening student Amy Kong ’26, Karl Kristensen ’24, Jon Palacios ’25, and evening student Monica Shin ’26 worked tirelessly over seven weeks to prepare for the competition and delivered outstanding performances on Oct. 13.

| Youth Law Day 2023
On Oct. 19, Fordham Law School co-hosted the 2023 Annual Youth Conference with Girls Rule the Law, Inc. The day-long program gave 150 middle school and high school girls the opportunity to hear from and network with judges, attorneys, and political figures as well as several Fordham Law students, alumni, and faculty. Feerick Center Speaker Series | Fighting Back: Trans Litigation and Advocacy in a Time of Legislative Violence
On Oct. 31, the Feerick Center for Social Justice and Advocates for Trans* Law Students invited Dale Melchert, a staff attorney at the Transgender Law Center, to speak about trans rights litigation during the Feerick Center’s Social Justice Leaders Virtual Speaker Series. Melchert litigates cases in federal and state courts to advance legal protections for transgender and non-binary people across the country in health care, prisons, and systems that criminalize and target our communities.
