News from NESA!

Hello to the NESA Community; we hope you have all had a great start to October! We want to take this opportunity to send you a few updates about what is happening here at NESA and to share with you more information about some upcoming October activities we think you might be interested in!

We’re happy to report that this has been one of our busiest Fall seasons yet and that programs have been thriving! Even though we are only into the first week of October, we’re actively planning for the Winter 2025 season already.

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our facilities, we’re finalizing plans for NESA's next phase of renovations, which will include updates to flooring and painting - scheduled to begin after this season wraps up.

We’re thrilled to have Caterology, Northgate's new food service provider, working away in the kitchen preparing delicious meals and snacks for our members. Their tasty creations are sure to provide the energy needed to fuel a full day of activities!

We hope you’re all enjoying the season so far and want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and for a restful and relaxing long weekend ahead.

To create a comfortable and safe environment for everyone, we kindly ask that you refrain from wearing perfumes or colognes while visiting the recreation center. Honorary NESA Memberships

Help NESA acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional contributions of both members and non-members to the organization! Complete the below nomination form to nominate our community members for this honour. Additional information can be found on the nomination form - click here to view the form.

Submissions can be made in person or via email. The nomination submission deadline is on November 15, 2024. Awarded individuals will be recognized at the 2025 Annual General Meeting and will be provided with a 2025 NESA Membership or Lifetime NESA Membership.

Ongoing Fundraisers at NESA

Did you know that NESA sells Nevada pull tickets on site at the Northgate Lions Seniors Recreation Centre, Monday to Friday from 10am-1pm? If you're ever in the area and want to try your luck at winning cash prizes up to $100, stop by and buy a ticket!

To help our amazing custodian Luisa keep the Northgate facility floors clean, we kindly ask you to remember to bring a pair of indoor shoes for your dance or fitness workshop/program. Indoor shoes will help us keep our gymnasium and fitness studio flooring better protected and easier to clean. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Did you know that NESA sells grocery gift cards for Sobeys, Safeway, and Save-On Foods? For every grocery card you buy from NESA, our seniors recreation centre earns a small percentage from each card sale. Those funds then go towards our various seniors fundraising initiatives.
